Our client develops a comprehensive US real estate platform that streamlines the entire real estate journey through property search, personalized client engagement, transaction management, digital contract signing, and post-sale concierge services.

We are looking for a self-driven and proactive Automation QA Engineer who enjoys working in a fast-paced startup environment, is comfortable with frequent product changes, and takes strong ownership of quality. The candidate will also be able to build and establish test automation on the project from scratch, define the automation approach, and drive it toward stable and effective use within the development process.

Type of engagement: outstaffing team extension for ongoing collaboration (with daily overlap until 7:00 PM EEST)

Job Highlights:
  • Work on a real estate platform covering different parts of the property journey — search, transactions, signing flows, and post-sale services
  • Work as part of a distributed multinational team with direct communication across engineering and product functions

Team Composition:
Responsibilities
  • Design and implement a test automation framework from scratch
  • Develop and maintain automated tests for web applications using Playwright and TypeScript
  • Develop and maintain automated API tests
  • Build and maintain automated regression and smoke test suites
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
  • Collaborate closely with Manual QA Engineers to identify automation opportunities, align manual and automated test coverage, and continuously improve the overall testing approach
  • Collaborate with Software Engineers to improve application testability, understand technical implementation and integrations, and ensure automated testing is effectively incorporated into the development process
  • Analyze automated test execution results, investigate failures, and maintain test stability
  • Identify and eliminate flaky tests and improve automation reliability
  • Define and maintain automation standards, reusable components, and testing approaches
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in test automation
  • Strong practical experience with Playwright
  • Strong knowledge of TypeScript / JavaScript
  • Experience building or significantly contributing to a test automation framework from scratch
  • Strong understanding of test automation architecture and best practices
  • Experience with UI and API test automation
  • Good understanding of REST APIs, HTTP/HTTPS, and client-server architecture
  • Experience working with SQL databases for test data preparation and verification
  • Experience with Git and common development workflows
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
  • Understanding of test data management, test isolation, parallel execution, and flaky test prevention
  • Ability to analyze application architecture and identify appropriate automation coverage
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Claude Code) to accelerate automated test development, support debugging, improve maintainability, and increase automation stability
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to code quality
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of automation solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Nice to Have

  • Experience with mobile application test automation using Appium or similar tools
  • Experience testing React Native applications
